These terms apply when you use descant.com.au. Descant is a business name of Grounded Scribe Pty Ltd (ABN 69 695 177 818). By using this website you agree to them.

About these terms

In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Grounded Scribe Pty Ltd, trading as Descant. They cover this website, its guides and downloads, and its forms.

Using Descant in your school

A school uses the Descant service under a written agreement with us, accepted by someone authorised to act for the school. That agreement, not these website terms, sets out the service, its price, how student information is handled and what happens when the agreement ends. Ask us for a copy before your school signs.

Information on this website

Our guides explain how things generally work. They are general information, not legal, clinical or professional advice. Always follow the official NCCD guidance, your sector’s requirements and your school’s own policies. We check what we publish and date it (see our editorial policy), but guidance changes, so check the official source before you rely on something.

Our guides and content

The text, design, guides and downloads on this website belong to Grounded Scribe Pty Ltd. You may read, download and share them within your school for its own use. Please don’t republish, sell or change them without our written permission. The names and marks of other organisations belong to them.

Enquiries and guide requests

When you send an enquiry or ask for a guide, we use your details as our privacy policy explains. Please don’t include information about individual students in a form.

We link to official sources such as the NCCD website. We are not responsible for other websites’ content or privacy practices.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty or other term implied or imposed by legislation that cannot lawfully be excluded, including the Australian Consumer Law in Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth). Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on the general information on this website.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and disputes about them are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.

Descant is a business name of Grounded Scribe Pty Ltd. We collect these details only to reply to your enquiry and, if you ask, to call you. We keep your enquiry on record so we can follow it up. It also reaches us by email through our email provider, which processes it in the United States. We won't add you to a mailing list unless you ask. See our privacy policy for how to access or correct your details, or to make a complaint.
