for educators
Two minutes, in your own words. No account.
If your school’s support team has sent you a Descant link, they want to hear what you’ve noticed about a student. Here’s exactly what happens next.
- 1
Open the link
It arrives from your school’s student support team, about one student and one question.
- 2
Confirm it’s you
A one-time code comes to your school email. No account, no password to remember.
- 3
Speak or type
Say what you’ve noticed, in your own words — about two minutes is plenty. You can type instead, and attach a work sample or plan if it helps.
- 4
Check it
Your words come back as a short written note. Fix anything that isn’t right before it goes anywhere.
- 5
Send it back
It lands on the student’s record with your name and the date, for the support team to read.
why it matters
You see the student every day. The support team doesn’t. What you notice in the room — the adjustment that’s working, the change others may not have seen — is often the missing piece when the team decides what to do next. A two-minute note means it reaches them instead of staying in a corridor conversation.
Questions educators ask
Do I need to install anything or make an account?
No. The link opens in your browser on a phone or computer. You confirm it’s you with a one-time code sent to your school email.
Who reads what I send?
The student support staff working with that student. Access follows their role in the school; it isn’t shared with everyone.
Is my recording kept?
No. The recording is turned into text and then deleted. Only the written note you checked is kept.
What if I get something wrong?
You see the written note before you send it, and you can change it. After that, talk to the support team member who asked.
Does the AI decide anything about the student?
No. It turns what you said into a tidy note. People on the support team decide what it means and what happens next.
